Linking

Linking is sharing character cards with another player. These cards are used as supporting cards in the player's team. Slots for Linking come in two varieties: Friend Slots and Mentor Slots.
Friend Slot
When Linking using a Friend Slot, each player designates a card from their partner's inventory which they would like to use. These cards do not need to be the same. The player wishing to use a friend's card must meet all of the requirements on the card in order to be allowed to use it.
Note that in the case of Copy Count requirements, it appears both players must meet the requirement. This has been subject to change several times since the creation of the Copy Count requirement.
Mentor Slot
When Linking using the Mentor Slot, the players share a single character card from the Mentor's inventory and both gain the benefits of the card as a support. The Mentee is not required to meet any of the requirements of the card.
