Some quests are activated automatically when a player reaches a location, a certain level or a certain faction alignment.
A quest can be cancelled, but any reactivation of that quest must be done in the player's Quest Archive screen (an option under Inventory).
Essential quests that a player should complete are those that unlock new map locations and move the main storyline forward. These include:
