Quest Cutscene: Dead Kingdom- Invasion of Kurston
A chill breeze drifts over you as you walk return to the town of Kurston. The stench of Trolls is gone, but a new smell has replaced it: one of wet leaves and dust. The streets are deserted, and every door and window is locked and barred.
You hear faint shuffling from around a corner, which moments later is revealed to be a hunched skeleton. It is soon joined by many others.
Great.
Save the town of Kurston by collecting 20 Rickety Skeletons
- After collecting 20 Rickety Skeletons
Quest Cutscene: Dead Kingdom- Infested Forest
You drive the last of the mindless undead back to the outskirts of town where they disappear into the woods. Timidly, windows begin to creak open. When they see that the threat has passed, the citizens of Kurston come pouring out of their hiding places to thank you in a tide of cheers!
Kursten Citizen:
- Huzzah! Huzzah for our Hero! If not for your timely bravery, we would have been trapped inside our houses until the end of time! When the water started to freshen, we rejoiced at your apparent success... but then, from the darkness of the night, the dead walked among us! Battalions of them! Armored abominations marching in perfect formation! Most of them kept going into the Mangled Forest, but they left behind some weaker warriors to keep us holed up!
- First poisoned water, and now armies of the undead! Can nothing worse beset our poor village?
Travel to the Mangled Forest in pursuit of the undead invasion.

- We are under siege! Man the defenses and hold the gate! No enemy force has set foot inside these walls for a hundred years, and today will be no exception! Every able bodied warrior must do their duty to protect the heart of the Ivory City!

Quest Cutscene: Dead Kingdom- Investigate the Source
Guardsman:
- That's it! We've pushed them back! The dead are withdrawing into the night! We have won the day, and Ivory City is safe at last! Hurrah! Hurrah!
Amidst the celebration of victory, you are approached by an elderly scholar holding an armful of tattered and very old looking scrolls.
Scholar:
- Yes yes, we have saved the city and all that fuss, but we are still no closer to unveiling this undead menace! What if they come back tomorrow? What if they come back next week? We can't be haunted always with the worry of their return, we must root out the source of this scourge!
- While you mangey lot have been out here cheering like a bunch of ninny songbirds, I've been down in the Archives doing real work! And I have discovered a lead, so listen up the lot of yeh!
Scholar:
- According to these records, long before the time of the MythMonger, there was once a great kingdom to the South. The ruler of these lands was the venerable King Yorrick, a just and righteous lord among men! Loved by his people and respected by his enemies!
- But tragedy struck this kingdom when Yorrick fell deathly ill with the Purple Fever! His followers adored him so greatly they could not bear to see him fall, and so they summoned the greatest magi of the time to aid them. The powerful warlocks placed a mystical enchantment over the entire realm so that even in death, the mighty King and his people would find life for all eternity!
- Long has this ancient land remained hidden, but now I fear that the MythMonger and his corrupting influences have taken hold of poor King Yorrick and his kingdom of the dead!
- If this is true, then we must journey to this forgotten place and break the MythMonger's bonds, least he forever command the unstoppable armies of the grave! His royal cemetery lies far to the South!
Travel to Yorrick's Requietory and find the source of the undead.
- You may now travel to Yorrick's Requietory.
At Yorrick's Requietory
Quest Cutscene: Dead Kingdom- Skeleton King Challenge
A thick, cold fog clings to your clothes as you venture towards the ancient Requietory, surrounded on all sides by gothic gravestones and ornate mausoleums. Your heart sinks into your gut when a rattling wind washes over you, carrying the haunting presence of the fallen King Yorrick upon it.
Out of the gloom, a squat skeleton appears and hobbles hastily towards you. To your surprise, it starts waving its arms in a gesture of hesitation and begins shouting at you in a rasping, dusty voice!
Skeleton:
- Mortal! You must help our suffering King!
- It's that horrible MythMonger! He has deceived good King Yorrick into war against the innocent!
- The MythMonger sent his spies to our lands and fed Lord Yorrick false information! They told him of the crushing grip the MythMonger holds on this world, and the dark times that have fallen! His Majesty was roused to battle, but was led to believe that the MythMonger's power stems from the Ivory City... a city that is truthfully the hub of the great rebellion! If Ivory City falls, the three Rebel Factions will be in grave danger as well!
- The MythMonger is using our great King as a pawn against his own enemies! Please, you must make him see the error of his actions! The MythMonger is our common foe!
- His Majesty can only be confronted with special Requietory Challenge Cards, which are powered by the energies of the undead. I can give you a small amount of these cards now, but if you run out, you will have to come see me for more!
Defeat the Skeleton King Yorrick 5 times to stop the undead attacks.
You must use Requietory Challenge Cards.
- You have received 5 Requietory Cards.
Completion Dialogue
Quest Cutscene: Dead Kingdom- Yorricks Freedom
You have bested the mighty Skeleton King, Yorrick! Your victory convinces him to listen to reason, and as you explain the situation to him the truth slowly sinks in.
Though his hollow face shows no trace of emotion, you feel a strong sense of remorse radiate from his old bones.
King Yorrick:
- What have I done? I wished to drive the dark powers of the MythMonger from this land... but instead I only helped to drive them deeper! His lies have turned me on those that I sought to protect! The treachery of the MythMonger knows no boundaries! I feel a fool, duped by the cheap parlor tricks of rouges... a fate unbefitting of a King.
- I thank you for leading me to the truth, but I must atone for my transgressions. I shall travel in your service and humbly pledge myself to the cause of the rebellion.
- My crown and sword are yours to command.
At Ivory City
Quest Cutscene: Trade Problems- Resolution
Scholar:
- So... looks like I was right about King Yorrick after all! Curse the MythMonger and his underhanded tactics! To purposely deceive the proud ancestors of an ancient kingdom for his own selfish aspirations of power! I'm just glad you were able to stop this travesty before things escalated beyond control...
Merchant:
- And along with stopping the undead, it looks like you managed to get those vagrants at Kurston back into gear! This last shipment of Leech-Cakes is some of the best I've had in a long while. You're a welcome ambassador to the merchants guild, though do try to stay more focused on the job at hand next time, will you?
- You have received 20 Heroic Cards.
